Keep Waveland Beautiful

Keep Waveland Beautiful is an official affiliate of Keep America Beautiful and Keep Mississippi Beautiful.

Mission:
“To further the mission of Keep America and Keep Mississippi Beautiful by assisting the City of Waveland in its endeavors to maintain green space, establish anti-litter programs, and coordinate volunteers for identified projects.”

Highlights of Our Major Projects and Successes: 

• Maintains green space.
• Works with Litter Control/Beautification for City of Waveland.
• Represents Waveland on various local and county beautification committees.
• Maintains the Block Captain Project (organized in early 2012).
• Maintains a Beach Captain program (began in 2020).
• Is responsible for Tree City Designation Status for City of Waveland.
• Continues to work on Tree Ordinance revision.
• Collaborates with other organizations on Anti-litter Campaign.
• Participates in Clean Up Campaigns with Keep America Beautiful / Keep Mississippi Beautiful, MS State Extension Service, Hancock Beautification, Hancock County, Coastal Clean-Up, local schools and clubs.
• Volunteers work tirelessly to pick up litter (look for them with vests & grabbers.)

Keep Waveland Beautiful has been recognized by Keep Mississippi Beautiful for the hard work of the all-volunteer committee by honored as a member of the President Circle.
